Juan William Chavez is back by popular demand to explore the exhibition Designing Chessmen: A Taste of The Imagery of Chess. Chavez will lead participants through a series of drawing exercises in which participants draw without looking at the paper. No prior
drawing experience required. Blind contour drawing is a great way for a beginner as well as a more advanced artist to develop their skills.
Juan William Chavez is an artist, cultural activist, and the founder of the Northside Workshop and the Pruitt lgoe Bee Sanctuary. His interdisciplinary approach to art has gained the attention and support of prestigious institutions like the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, Creative Capital, the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and the Art Matters Foundation.
