Crafts and Cocktails: Natural History Preservation with Lady von Black

$ 5.00

Join us for an evening inspired by the natural history specimens in Animal, Vegetable, Mineral: Natural Splendors From the Chess Collection of Dr. George & Vivian Dean. Cassandra Nichole, aka Lady Von Black, will discuss how to legally and ethically source specimens and how to turn insects and other small creatures into works of art. Using specimens and found objects from the Lady Von Black collection, learn how to preserve and display some of nature’s curiosities. Participants will also receive information on how to continue the practice at home. Cassandra Nichole is a designer and owner of LVB Curiosities, specializing in skeletal articulation, taxidermy, mummification and display cabinets. Her work can be found at Flowers and Weeds in Saint Louis and Maevas Coffee in Alton, IL. *$5 Admission available for World Chess Hall of Fame members. Reservations recommended.
