Pieces are handcrafted from antique boxwood and genuine ebony, weighted and felted with billiard cloth base pads. King measures 4.4" tall. Board measures 23.75" x 23.75" with 2.5" squares, and is handcrafted in Spain from greenwood and bird's eye maple.
Each set comes with an official Certificate of Authenticity from the House of Staunton and an original manufacturer's plaque indicating the production number, with an adhesive backing that would allow it to be affixed.
In the summer of 2018, the World Chess Hall of Fame premiered an exhibition featuring many sets from the House of Staunton, called The Staunton Standard.
